It is up to the university to decide which visa type to offer an employee.
As I understand it a person with an MA teaching in a University English department can be given an E1. The especialy appies for folk with TESOL backgrounds,and or research and publication histories.
Those with MAs who teach conversation in Freshman programs are usually offered an E2. Those with BAs teaching in hogwans on campus also fall into this category. |
