Has anyone ever considered the possibility that Iraq could potentially become one of the greatest success stories of modern history. Also that George W. Bush's go it alone conviction could propel him into the 21st centuries first hero?
I'm not sure if it's possibly, but I think it deserves consideration.
Also, I was watching a news segment of Donald Trump saying that 9/11 was America's chance to become the world's role model and great admiration, but America ruined it's chance by carrying out an extended war on terror and ultimately lost all world admiration by invading Iraq.
I don't agree with that. In my opinion, America's mistake was it's foreign policy beginning after the fall of the Soviet Union when the third world including the Middle east was open with no adversary. That seems to be the beginning of a dramatic increase in Americanism around the world which ultimately pissed of alot of terrorist leading up to 9/11.
Don't get me wrong. I do not believe that George W. Bush has helped the situation, but to primarily blame him for America's unpopular reputation is not correct in my opinion.
I would correlate Wal Mart's dramatic surge during the late 1990's more than GWB's foreign policy to America's international unpopularit
I suppose I'm rambling.

You are correct in this statement.
George Bush is the fall guy. |

You are quite right. One of the very very very few things I heard from Bush's first presidential campaign that I liked was that he wanted to address the problem of growing anti-Americanism around the world.
One of life's little ironies. |

You see I think it['s precisely this mindset that convinced George Bush to engage in the war in the first place.
The neocons couldn't explain their plans of the middle east to Bush in an intellectual capacity (the man too dumb for that) but instead likely reverted to the messianic, change the world strategy that would conect with the born again from Texas. |
