Several times I've seen here either the web address or a reprint of the E-2 visa restrictions (I'm not talking about new rules, I'm talking about working for more than one employer, teaching privates, etc.)

I've just spent the last 30 minutes looking for it with the search function, inputting different things, to no avail. Can someone point me in the right direction?

Thanks!

Short and to the point. You can't do anything legally except work where you are hired. You can add a second job, but you and your boss has to sign a form at immigration and the income from your second job cannot
except your income at your first job.

As for privates, it is illegal EVEN IF you have your bosses permission.

This isn't the link you are asking for, but it might give you some info.

I appreciate both of your responses. What I'm really looking for is the part that says that you can't work for more than two employers on an E-2 visa, have to have the written permission of your primary employer, the prior permission of immigration, and that you can't work for more than one private institute.

My boss doesn't believe me...

If your boss doesn't believe you, tell him to call immigration. Problem solved.

Wait...you can though~

My Visa is through one company and I am subcontracted out to two elementaries, both of which are on the back of my ARC as additional employment locations with a matching stamp in my passport from immi. I don't know how it was done, but it's all legit.

There is no part that says that you can't work for more than two employers. As long as your boss agrees, it can be done. But I can't see how it was done without you knowing about it? YOu had to have been at the immi department when the stamps were put in your passport.

I know I will NOT be doing this, because privates are illegal, but I am guessing a whole hell of a LOT of people will be doing privates to thumb their noses at the immigration retards.

How rude!

I meant I didn't know what legal rule/loophole allowed it to be done. I was there when they did the stamp and modified my ARC, I am contracted with one company and then hired/farmed out to two public schools, so technically I work at 3 places. My Visa is attached to the main school where I do two classes a day 3 days a week, I also work at two public schools 4 hours a day 5 days a week.

There is no legal loophole. WHat they have done is completely legal, or the immigration officer would not have stamped your passport. If you don't like the situation, find a new job when your contract expires.

Didn't say I didn't like it or wanted a new job, just thought it was a different situation than most. It's actually nice. I do public schools, get the school holidays off but I don't have to do any of the other school stuff like report cards, school activities, grades/tests, or the PR/politics stuff that some posters complain about. I'm there do the 4 classes and go home.
