China's booming pharmaceutical industry has doubled exports to the United States in the past five years, undercutting competitors and making American consumers reliant on the safety of Chinese factories and captive to any disruptions in Sino-U.S. commerce.

In America the Govt tell us that we must not allow prescription drugs from Canada because the quality cannot be guarantied????? |

The US government doesn't care about the quality of drugs, as long at it makes pharm companies money. Canadian drugs were too cheap. Who wants Americans to have affordable medicine?
Given the amount of lead that makes it into Chinese children's toys, I'm gonna guess Chinese drugs aren't top notch. |

That's what I figured this thread was going to be about.
Sometimes it's nice going to a country with a bit more freedom than South Korea. |

| A few months ago there was huge news about recalls of various products made in China. The story that stands out (because my aunt swore her dog was a victim) was about pet food and how a dog in the States died because of it. It was something about them putting in some harmful ingredients just to save money. I never looked into it further but that story and a bunch of other side-stories got a lot of people paranoid about Chinese food products. |
