I just opened a box of Ivy crackers I bought the other day from the mom and pop mart down the street, to find reddish-brown worms on the crackers. There were 3 dead ones and one that was moving. I just chucked them out the window down onto the street. Totally disgusting! These crackers were also inside a wrapper. I don't think I want Ivy crackers for a while now. |

I have a trash bin, but I was not about to throw a cracker with a live worm into my trash can INSIDE my apartment! Ewww..makes my skin crawl. No more Ivy crackers for me. How does a worm manage to stay alive wrapped in paper that is also inside a box? SCARY! |

Yes far better to toss in on the street...hey maybe the worms will get pissed off and crawl back to your place to lay eggs and multiply...revenge a la Gulliver... |

If I were you, princess, I'd save the cracker, put it in a bowl of ramyun, stir it until the cracker is nice and soggy (and the worms were at the bottom of the bowl) and give it to the one person you hate at work then run like hell.......instant revenge

A lot of things sit for a long time in small stores and often they get inventory that is outdated or nearly it's expiration.
I did notice that eggs I bought in a small store were old. The snacks were old and well, it's all older than what you get at big stores. |

Princess, you have trash inside your apartment. You DO manage to take the trash out, right? Or do you live in one of those garbage houses? |

I needed some vitamin tablets, so nipped to the Asian store on hooker hill. Picked up the only packet, a rather dusty looking box that had been sellotaped shut. Checked the best by date on them, June 2005. This was only a few weeks ago.
Didn't buy them obviously, but bought a pack of Centrum Silver tablets instead, got back home which is about 150km SW of Seoul and took a tablet and realised they are multi-vitamins for Adults 50+. Great. I'm too stubborn to waste 15 000 won like that, so am taking them. Only being 29, I've found the only side effect of these tablets is that I've started to wear cardigans and thinking about buying some "nice sensible slacks" |

Why is that so gross? Meal worm eggs are in almost all processed grain foods. Try buying a box of Jiffy cornbread mix, the most popular corn bread mix in the US, and letting it sit in a warm, dry place for a few months. You'll have meal worms 90% of the time after 2-3 months.
Just remind yourself, bugs are tasteless and excellent sources of protein. |

Uh-oh. I guess that means we have all eaten meal worm eggs and just didn't know it, then. I think I am seriously cutting back on grains now. |
