This Saturday DGBD is holding a charity concert featuring an interesting variety of foreign and Korean bands, including Saint John the Gambler, Kingston Rudieska, Rock Tigers, Moonshiners, Galaxy Express, and a whole bunch more.

To enter, you either have to pay 10 000 won or bring a toy worth 7000 won or more, still in its packaging. I think other things like children's books are accepted too.

All this stuff will be skipping the charity step and going directly to orphanages. Last year the organisers threw a similar show to collect coats for the homeless, and afterwards we all brought garbage bags full of donations to Seoul Station and quietly handed them out to the homeless people there at 3 in the morning.

BB Lucky Town and Popstore are pop-punk, Invisible Man is a very strange band but I'd definitely call them punk, Johnny Royal is a great hardcore band and of course Kingston Rudieska is bluebeat ska.

I wonder if any teachers are in those bands? They might be deported if Immigration shows up. Shocked

The promoters are going to use Yongsan's Toys for Tots program to distribute the toys to a large list of orphanages throughout Korea. The money raised from the show will be splurged at Toys R Us on Sunday to add to the donations.

Haven't heard some ska in a while. Might have to show up. If there's only one guy skankin, that will be me.

There won't be.

Kingston Rudieska is an awesome bluebeat band.

The show is going to finish up around 1:30am or 2.

Hey RSS, we're all going to the Toys R Us in Guro on Sunday to spend the profits from the show on more toys. It's gonna be awesome.

You know what, I think I might just stop by this event, and bring two or three others in tow! Toys for tots is definitely something I'd support.

Can anyone give me some clear directions to the club? I've never been there before. (Like subway stop, exit number, look for etc etc. ) Thanks!

I should really update this map. It might not be the same exit from Hongdae Station anymore. Just the one pointing toward the university.
