|
|
I'm currently in the US, and may need to come back to the US in under a year to start a stateside job. (we shall see if I get it or not )
I would really like to try ESL in Korea though for the experience. Could I get a job (or jobs) to work for less than a year in S. Korea?
Will each job have to sponsor my VISA in turn? Are they even willing to sponsor for a <1 year contract?
Any chance of finding a <1 year position which will pay for the flight over?
I think I'm pretty employable/have a pretty decent ESL resume for a newbie if that helps.
Thanks |

Chances of getting a short term contract with visa sponsorship AND airfare are pretty slim.
It is perhaps possible to get a winter camp job with a short term (90 day visa) that won't pay well but will pay for your flight
and then
since you are here you would have a better change to find a 6 month job on an E2. You would have better luck trying this than you would finding a <1 year contract from abroad.

You can find a 6 month job. Make damn sure they pay the airfare for your way over there. They will not and you should not expect airfare home or a severance payment. |

I'd like to hear some examples of this besides short-term camps.
OP: You will have to sign a one-year contract and then bail after 6-months. And that sucks for everyone, including the other foreigners in this country as it gives us a bad rep. We are judged by the actions of a few here. |
