I've been thinking about taking a trip to Tokyo over my holiday for New Year's. I would be going from Dec 29th to Jan 1st, though I'd prefer to take a late flight on the 28th to get the most time there.

Does anyone have any idea of what I'd be looking at for a flight and low/mid-level accomodations at this point? Would it even be worth it for 3 or 4 days?

I'm also hoping to go to the Yarennoka NYE MMA show (the trip kind of hinges on that, actually), which is at the Saitama Super Arena. I understand that Saitama is about an hour outside of Tokyo, but I'm thinking I would prefer to be in Tokyo the rest of the time I'm over there. Will it be difficult/expensive to get out to Saitama (and back) on NYE?

I was also considering going to Osaka to watch the K-1 NYE event. It would obviously have to be one or the other, but I might go with this option if it's a lot cheaper.

The main question is, have I waited too long to book a trip like this (either one)?
