I don't think that's his, I think that's the video the contest winner made, or maybe even the people who run the system.
Either way though, do you use this system, and is it really that good? Is it like a torrent system or what? |

Hi all,
lol. that wasn't me. I just found it on Youtube.
Itaewonguy, Dowload speed relies on a lot of variables (e.g. seeders, leechers, location of the file, your internet max speed, etc.). |

| They are using Usenet or newsgroups. It's usually a monthly flat fee but it's much faster than torrents or http downloads cause it's not p2p. You usually download at the fastest speed your internet connection will allow. I use the service and get about 2 megs a second constant, which is good. Also they have a lot more files than torrent or other p2p programs. So it's really up to you to decide if it's worth it or not. I think it's worth it, since I download a lot of HD movies and that saves me from buying hd-dvd's or blu-ray's. |

| I downloaded something from a private torrent tracker and it was going at around 10mb per sec. That was much quicker than I thought my connection could be. |

This was my result today. However, I still get booted out of online games for high ping. What causes this? |

High ping.
Seriously though, throughput and latency do not necessarily have anything to do with each other. My parents have satellite internet and the throughput is quite good, but the minimum latency is around 700ms. For those who don't know, you need under 100ms ping to not be frustrated out of your mind in online action games.
Could be your provider is "powerful" (high throughput) but "sluggish" (high latency). |
