My wife got her voting package in the mail yesterday. All candidates have to declare there financial assests. Here they are:

이명박 Lee Myung Bak (former CEO of Hyundai) has saved a grand total of 1 133 791 Won throughout his life (yeah right). Very Happy

이회창 Lee Whey Chang has saved 2 160 162 Won. Again, yeah right. Shocked

장동영 Jang Dong Young has saved 1 113 791 Won. Sure then. Shocked

Man, how can you trust any of these clowns. What a bloody joke. My wife asked me which I think is most trustworthy. I just laughed. It seems that most of us save more money in a month then they have in a lifetime...again yeah right!!! Rolling Eyes

Shoot, if they're not fit enough to manage their own finances such that they have more than a couple million W in the bank they're sure as hell not fit to manage the economy of an industrialized nation!

Accordding to my wife's voting package and the TV earlier this week those numbers are not correct. They each should have three more zeros after them.

So 이명박 Lee Myung Bak (former CEO of Hyundai) has saved a grand total of 1 133 791 000 Won

이회창 Lee Whey Chang has saved 2 160 162 000 Won

장동영 Jang Dong Young has saved 1 113 791 000 Won

Check your package again and see if it says the number are in thousands.

Koreans are notorious for not reporting income.

Many small business owners in the US avoid paying income taxes that way.

I also wonder if those are cash numbers, or total assets?

I imagine that those guys live in Apts near that value alone.

I didn't see that in the package, but that would make a lot more sense. Having less 2 million Won in savings when you were the CEO of one of the biggest companies in the world is crazy. The funny thing about the package is that they have all crimes they have been charged with, how much money they have and how much their wives have listed. Interesting reads anyways. I am going to take a closer look at them tonight.

Rival presidential candidates were spitting feathers Wednesday when the prosecution cleared Grand National Party presidential candidate Lee Myung-bak of any involvement in the so-called BBK scandal centered on his former business partner. Independent Lee Hoi-chang, Chung Dong-young of the United New Democratic Party, Moon Kook-hyun of the Create Korea Party, Kwon Young-ghil of the Democratic Labor Party and Rhee In-je of the Democratic Party vowed to stage a joint struggle against what they said was a kowtow by prosecutors before Lee Myung-bak.

They would be correct.

According to my student it costs 500 000 000 won just to enter the presidential race
