I posted this in the technology forum but didn't get much of a response.

I'm looking for a dictaphone and I have no idea where to start.

It needs to be reasonably compact, able to pick voices up clearly from a couple of metres away, and it would be good if it was voice activated. Think: private detective.

Does anybody know
a) a good brand
b) vague cost, and
c) where can I get one?
