I seem to recall that I brought two bottles of Moet when I got there and many bottles of beer back from Thailand. No problem. As a matter of fact the guy at customs asked me if I liked beer ( mekju).

Last time i came through I had 3 bottles (1 litrex3) in my carry on. Thing is the official customs form says 750ml or 1litre. Every time I have gone through with Koreans, they always have more than 1 bottle, so I figured when in Rome...

I wouldn't push more than 3, they might think you are selling...

Great advice Mr. Pink! - tell a newbie to break the law, get arrested, be fined and deported. New visa regs. and criminal record checks be damned... "You were 'clean' until you went through Customs at ICN. Goodbye." Rolling Eyes

To the OP,

You are allowed to bring in 1 litre (duty free).

Guess you never read the customs declaration. If you get caught, they charge you 50% duty on what you are bringing in. They will not fine and deport you for bringing in 1 or 2 extra bottles of booze...wtf??? I have seen my boss carry 2-3 bottles of scotch into Korea from trips abroad. Most Koreans do it.

Before being so reactionary and scaring the crap out of someone asking a legit question, how about you listen to someone who has done it (me) and perhaps figure I knew what my risks where.

We are not talking drugs here. I will be bringing 2 bottles in when I come back after xmas. I'd bring more but they are kinda heavy in addition to all my other luggage. Do you think I am going to get fined and deported? Sheesh give me a break. Rolling Eyes
