Here's a question unlikely to be covered by any of the recent threads on Avalon. No, I haven't lost my mind and decided to return to hagwon hell. One of the jobs (outside of Korea; screw this new E2 lunacy) I'm applying for requires a statement on letterhead to verify the particulars of teaching experience: dates and length of employment, subjects taught, etc. Knowing how disorganized Avalon is, and how fast it's expanding, I anticipate this being a COMPLETE NIGHTMARE. In any case, does anyone have an English-speaking HR contact there?

Thanks in advance.

Don't have a definite answer for you, sorry . . .

But I'm really amazed at how much growing they've done. Campuses all over the country. There's even an English-language site now.

If all else fails, try their contact page. It looks like Sanggil is still a contact there. http://english.avalon.co.kr/AVA/contact.html

Sorry Smee...but don't go through Sanggil.

They have a foreigner who is in charge of HR matters, I hear he is a pretty reliable guy.

I fired off a quick email to him moments ago to get the necessary contact info for you. I will pm you when I get a response.

Very Happy

Good to hear. Would you mind PMing the info to me as well?

Also surprised so many of us are still in-country. Wink

edit: now my memory is jogged. Sanggil became quite worthless as time went on, I remember now. He went from being very helpful to completely avoiding white people in the halls. I still remember my last day in Migeum when he came to my apartment to kick me out in the morning even though we agreed I'd be leaving that night. The "oh learry?" he gave me is lolcat material. *sigh* 시간이 아주 빨리 지나갔네 . . .

theatrelily: Thanks, I really appreciate that.

smee: Yeah, quite a few of us are... but not for much longer, in my case. I remember liking Sanggil but I saw the attitude shift you're talking about. Sad. He actually was a nice guy at one point.
