My favorite ski resort is Lake Louise, the scenery is incredible and back bowls are amazing.
I have been told it's cold but it has never bothered me.

I've only skied Louise once. My family always took me to Sunshine Village when we were in Banff.

My favourite ski hill is Marmot Basin, mainly because it's where I've gone the most in my life and I know my way around well. I like how it takes three chairlifts to get to the top. From the top of the Knob chair to the lower lodge, it would probably take over 20 minutes. There are also a lot of great paths through the trees that are fun to take.

Here's a map.

One important advantage of these hills as opposed to the Korean ones is that there's always a green circle if you're not much of a skier. Here, the lifts are divided by difficulty level--every course off the top of one chair will be roughly the same category of difficulty. But in Marmot even the Knob chair has a green circle.

Whistler Blackcomb, mostly for the sheer size of it. I had a season pass one year and skied something outrageous like 25 days and was still discovering stuff at the end of the season. Plus, the temps are more moderate. Rarely below -10c. My days of getting hypothermia sitting on Sunshine's chairlift on a -25 or 30 day are over!

Great. While we're at it, let's discuss: "Which is your favorite authentic deli?" and "Which world-class strain of chronic do you favor?"

...It'll be fun, because we can rub it in each others' faces that Korea doesn't offer either. Sad

Anywhere where Koreans don't ski. Show me a Korean in motion and I'll show you a dangerous person. The only time they are safe is when in a coma.

Haha! that's for sure

I went to Vivaldi Park a couple of times last year and mfers were trying to snowboard like they were Evil Kneivel (RIP)...knocked me down a few times, of course without any afterwards concern. Here's what got me: they couldn't tell me as a foreigner when they did it.

The good news was most of them ate shit at some point down the course, and with the limited nature of the runs there, I could easily spot them the rest of the way 'down'...say a couple of them go away in ambulances. Twisted Evil

I jealous of you, Jlb for having had a season pass at Whistler.
I skied their four days last year and it was so much bigger than I had
even imagined. I wish that I had more time to explore the mountain.
But my problem with Whistler was that it was so expensive and rainy.
I was there in February and it rained two of four days. Mad

Sunshine was a very beautiful nice mountain that I only have skied once.
I have never been to Ferne or Kicking Horse and I would love to see
those mountains. They look incredible from the maps and photos. Next
time I am skiing in North America, for an extended holiday, I thinking I
am going to go to sunny California and ski Mammoth Mountain
(because of the low value of the dollar).

My favorite mountains of the eastern North America are Cannon in NH,
Wildcat in NH, and Tremblant in PQ. I am from East coast so I have skied
many more mountains in that region.

I have been in Korea 1 1/2 years and have yet to hit the slopes here. I think I
might go to Muju over winter break. I really like skiing for solitude but I
dont think I will find much of that in Korea.

I lived in Denver and Vail was by far the best I went to because of the size.

But Winterpark and Breckenridge were both closer and very nice. A-Basin is great for May and June riding and Keystone's rail park was top notch, especially since it stays open until 8pm.

I can't remember the name of the resort, but it's near the town of Chuncheon.

It's decent enough (I've skiied in the French and Italian Alps) but there's not enough snow in Korea really and thus too much ice and fake snow.

They opened up a second mountain peak on Sunshine a few years ago. I've only gone a couple times, but it's a pretty intense set of runs.
