I was wondering where we are legally allowed to work. My understanding after talking to immigration is that we can work anywhere as long as we follow the rules of the other ministries, ie, pay taxes, have a BA, etc.
I am negotiating with a Korean Kindergarten to work with them. This is not part of a language school, so they cannot sponsor a teacher's visa. I think they had a problem with an illegal part time teacher before and they want to be sure that I can legally work there. I am telling them that as far as immigration is concerned I can work anywhere. Basically, that immigration doesn't care about me anymore.
Does anyone know if this is in writing anywhere? If it is where can I find it? If it is not written anywhere I guess i may to get immigration to call the school.
If anyone can help, thanks, |

Get the school to call immigration. They still have to register you with the MoE. |

My understanding is that F-visa people are legally allowed to work any job they are qualified to work or a business is willing to hire them to do.
So, the question is: What does a Korean need to do/have to work this position? It would be the same for you. Simple. |

I think you can work just about anywhere you want without any problems and if you were to do anything dodgy (either deliberately or unwittingly) I think the penalties would be much less severe than for an E2 Visa holder. Not suggesting that you would of course.
I seem to remember a poster writing a while back that it is illegal to have a second job if you work full-time in a public school. Can anyone back this up? What is the penalty for anyone who does? I'm just curious, I don't actually know anyone who does although I'm sure there must be a few around.
Ttompatz is probably the best person to answer the questions in this thread... Are you out there today TTompatz? |

What are the requirements for a Korean working in a kindergarten?
They'd be the same for you. |

If it's a private kindergarten the paperwork is nothing. Immigration doesn't want to know. Ed dept cares nothing about you; they only want the illegals.
You are not. What paperwork would need to be done with it? What, tax?
Tax dept. only knows what you let them know. |

i am in a similar situation and am looking into this too. with an F visa, we can work anywhere llike a korean. if you are willing, and they, it is okay. but it is like a korean, so to do private lessons, i believe you need a tutoring license. you must report this income for taxes. immigration does not care about you anymore.
if you work for a school, your CONTRACT with the school might limit you, so you would need permission from the school. if you teach without permission, you are violating your contract, and the school can penalize you, but immigration cannot. |

I understand that I can work anywhere. Immigration does not care about me and where I work. I do have to consider the contract with a school etc.
I know all of this, but does anybody know where I can find this in writing?
Thanks |
