|

I want to take my girlfriend on a weekend getaway where we can stay warm inside, looking at the view of the ocean from our room.
Anyone got any ideas on places to stay/go? I'm thinking a 3 day 2 night trip. |

Stay at the Westin Chosun. It's really nice. You are right on haeundae beach. The rooms are decorated nicely and the beds are really nice with big down comforters. It's a bit pricy, but spend a little money! For a great meal, go to Ventana's at the Novotel. Also, hit up the aquarium if you can avoid the crowds. |

Personally, I would rather stay at a yeogwan 1 or 2 blocks from the beach, pay 35,000 or so a night (Sante Fe Motel rocks!) and spend the extra 150,000 or so you save per night on doing something fun, like a mini cruise, elegant dinner, setting up a get rich quick pyramid scheme, etc. But that's me.
I can recommend, in tune with your direct question, to do an overnight cruise. When you get to Busan, go directly to the tourism office (or plan before you go) and find out about the rates for the inclusive overnight boat cruises in Busan. |

There are a whole slew of hotels/motels along Gwangan Beach that are priced at varied levels. There is the Aqua Palace (which is brand new) and a few other extremely large hotels and spa places as well as smaller family run motels that are pretty nice and won't break the bank.
Personally, I think that Gwangan is a nicer area than Haeundae. The view of the bridge at night is gorgeous, I'm sure your girlfriend will love it. And there are a lot more restaurants and bars that front the beach as well.
If you like Mexican food, try Taco Al Puebla. It's a very small stand run by a Korean guy, WonTae, who is super friendly. I eat here twice a week, easily. Here are the directions:
Go to the Haeundae stop and go out either exit 3 or exit 5 and walk towards the beach. You will turn left at the first Main road (not small sidestreet). There is a glasses shop on the corner (possibly a Family Mart, as well, but I'm not 100% on that). While walking all the way down this road, you will pass SAVE ZONE Mall on your left. The road ends in a T-intersection, but if you just keep walking straight across you will see an alleyway on the other side of the street. Walk up the alley, WonTae's shop is on your right hand side.
While I agree that Ventana's at the Novatel in Haeundae is pretty good, if you want great Italian and a great view of half of Busan, I would say go to the restaurant at the top of Lotte Hotel and Casino in Seomyeon. Their Italian food is great and the view of the city lights at night is pretty great. |

Check out Busan aquarium at Haeundai beach and Jagalchi fish market near Nampodong and then walk around Nampodong. |

I know and eat at that place and know Haeundae and still can't follow your directions!
I suggest the easiest way to get to Taco Al Puebla in Haeundae for a good quesadilla or burrito is to:
1) Go to the Sfunz Shopping Mall (pronounced "sponge" in Korean) on foot or by taxi, easy to find;
2) from the mall exit on the 7-Eleven side of the mall head down that street toward the beach;
3) a few blocks down you will see a beauty shop on your right at a corner and on the left is a narrow side road/busineses in alley, take that left and you'll see the Mexican place on your right before long. |
