What's the deal with Jinju City?
Its a whole year so i want as much feedback as i can get!! please.
I'm not interested in being in a conjested city for a year -- I would prefer visiting them on weekends. The offer I received seems fair: 2.3, 6hrs/day, 4:30-10:30 (I like sleeping in!), private apt, and all the other reg. things. My only concern is that I'd be the only teacher in the school and I've been warned about that. However, I figure I'll make friends with teachers at other schools in Jinju.
Is it just a crazy, tiny, boring, rural-ish area that I'll end up in one flew over the cookoos nest?
Thanks for your time! |

Jinju's all right. It's close to Busan, sorta, and is big enough to have more than one clique in it, plus a bunch of independents. Like any Korean town of its size, it's very transient insofar as the foreign community goes; one year might have incredibly lame people, another might have the best friends you ever make in your life.
One thing they'll always have is the bamboo forests.
Another is clean air. Well, maybe that's not always, but right now it's alright.
Another thing they'll always have is a small population. If you want anonymity, Jinju's maybe not best. |
