I was once charged by Immigration for working in two schools. I wasn't; I put the incorrect name of the school on my resume (long story, and not particularly my fault, but Immigration fined me anyway). They then proceeded to give me another E2 visa, after I ponied up a cool mill.
I'm curious what you, my esteemed colleagues, think about this. If somebody has been convicted by Immie (no cops ever involved, no criminal charges laid so far as I know) of a labour related offence, are they going to be banned from ever getting another visa? Bear in mind they've given me a visa since that all went down, and also that the alleged crime happened no less than four visas ago and they just eventually decided that I was guilty of something.
I'm halfway out the door anyway, and not intending to be here next year, but just in case I change my mind, I'd like to hear if you all have any experience with this sort of thing. Did you know anybody who got popped for multiple-workplaces or privates? If so, what happened with their next visa application?
The fact that I was and am innocent is of course irrelevant; they gave me a bill, I paid it, and they gave me a new visa. |

Sounds like it ain't even on your Immigration record. Whoever took your money kept it for themselves. Even if it is/was, since you've received an E-2 a few times after that I wouldn't worry about it. Are you paranoid or what? |

Well, yeah. But "just because I'm paranoid, don't me they're not after me." After the crap they pulled last time...no, I wouldn't be surprised at anything. |

My first middle school job here was set up illegally but unbeknownst to me. Fortunately for me, the school paid off whomever needed paying off at immigration. Since I've had numerous jobs in Korea since then, I don't think it left any paper trail. Now with this new E-2 stuff, I'm wondering if my FBI file will cause any troubles... |

To clarify--and not because you misread my OP, but because my OP wasn't clear--I worked two further E2 jobs without changing my resume, and then they (in this case, 'they' being a different band of immie thugs) decided that the first job (ages ago, with two e2's since then) was a scam.
Once I really commit to leaving, I'll get more specific, and name names, and point out exactly how random and f***ed immie can be here. In the meantime, I'll just say, to all newbs or anyone who finds themself working in a shady spot, even if it's years and years later, watch yourself. I didn't even realize I was shady spot, and I got dinged a grand for it. |
