|
|
| I am in desperate need of finding out if anybody knows of a doctor's office/clinic that is open on Sunday's and near the Nowon area because I think my girlfriend may have pneumonia and I do not think, well I actually know from personal experience that it will not be very wise to wait until monday to see a dr. She has the national health insurance, so that is not a problem. It would also be helpful if they spoke a little english too. Thanks |

There is a clinic in Eunhang Sagori, right on the junction of the two main roads, near the McDonald's. It's a 24-hour clinic, and the doctor speaks great English. Not sure if it's open on Sundays, but you could check....
If that's not open, take her to the hospital. Pneumonia can be brutal, don't take chances. There're hospitals all over the place. I know there's one very near Hagye station, just walk straight out of exit 3. There's one near Jungye station too, but I don't know where exactly. |

Here's a big list of clinics and hospitals in Nowon, and the hours/days they are open. http://health.nowon.seoul.kr/etc/direct/?Gubun_Type=Nowon_Dr&sel=3
Not sure of your Korean level, but I see only one walk-in clinic open on Sundays. The top 4 on that list are the major hospitals in the area and they are 24hrs (Disregard #3, as that is a cancer treatment center).
The walk-in clinic is called 중계윌내과 and state that they are open on Sundays from 9am-1pm. But I don't know how current that info is, so it might be best to first call (or have a taxi driver call) them at 933-8255. The clinic is about 5-10 minutes drive east of Junggye Station. Really tough to explain without a map, but best bet is to give the number to a taxi driver or give him this address 중계1동 360-7 세신프라자 401-402호.
As for hospitals, tell a taxi driver to go to any of these places:
-인제대학교 상계백병원 (een-jae dae-byeongwon). Few minutes north of exit 1 of Junggye Stn. Your best bet for being able to find English-speaking hospital staff.
-선한이웃병원 (seon-han-ee-oot byeongwon). Near Seokgye Stn
-을지병원 (Eulji byeongwon). Down from exit 3 of Hagye Stn
If no one on staff is able to explain well enough in English, try calling this place for interpreter assistance:

| Go to the Eulji hospital across from Hagye station (exit 2). I have had to go to the emergency there twice and there was always a doctor who spoke English. |
