I use the search function at forums often, since my questions have usually been answered before. At Dave's, some useful features have not been enabled:

"Search this thread"

This one allows you to click on a thread then search for a term within a thread. For example, if I type "yearly savings" in the main search function then a few threads come up with 12 pages, I do not want to go to each page within that thread looking for "yearly savings." I could just use that feature and it would take me directly to the post.

"Search Thread Titles Only"

This one is enabled at most boards that have a format like this. In the main search function, one is able to search just within the titles of threads. So if I search "Judo" and want only threads that are dedicated to judo to show up, rather than a whole bunch of threads that casually mention judo somewhere, then I use this.

Can these be enabled? I think they would improve the site.

It's been broken as long as I've cruised the forum. No one seems to care except people who need to search.

I go to google and type "eslcafe.com" plus whatever words I need to search for.

It doesn't work at all. Trolls who say use the search function are the worst. They have obviously never tried.
