A girl in my class is putting her hands together making a little pistol shape. A little hand pose we would interpret in the west as a cute little Charlie's Angels girl power expression. And then she bids me to turn around.

Don't be fooled. I've been long enough to recognize this as no demonstration of girl power but an efficient hand configuration for the maximal penetration of a teacher's ass cheeks with the index fingers.

How many times have you seen a Korean student do that to a Korean teacher? Zero! Why? Because the students know they'll get the tar beaten out of them if they do it. Well, don't clobber the kid the first time one does it to you, but do mete out punishment. The student standing during the class for 55 minutes (45 minutes for class plus the 10 minute break between classes) and having the rest of the class sit there during the entire 10 minute break for laughing at it will put the kibosh on that.
