|
|
It's that time of year again and yesterday was the first day of exams for my middle school students.
I'm always amazed when a student gets an exam paper and answer sheet/card, then promptly puts his head down on the desk and sleeps for the next 45 minutes!
I can almost understand if it's an English exam (this reflects on my teaching ), but when the little genius has a multiple choice mathematics exam with five answers for each question, taking 15 seconds to randomly fill out the answer card would give him a 20% (+ or -) score.
I guess it's technical high school for you! |

None of our academic HS students, since their cummulative totals matter, but a few of our vocational HS students manage to score 0% on multiple-choise examinations. |

How can they be so dumb. Why Sleep? All they have to do is tick some numbers.
I onced passed an economics paper by ticking all the B's. I didn't have a clue - didn't even read the questions. Out the door in less than 3 minutes. The Prof. asked me what the problem was. He jumped - and the others in the know laughed - when I said I was finished. Sixty percent for 3 mins work - now that's studying. Only an economist would be stupid enough to set a paper with 60 % of the answers being B's. |
