I tried to ask recruiters this, but they don't reply except one said the new rules start next Monday. I have not submitted my original diploma and other documents, but applied and had a phone interview so far.
I am in Korea teaching the last part of my hagwon contract and applied for a public school job recently through a recruiter. The recruiter told me to get my police record check on line since I was not at home to do it and then send all the other documents to her except the university sends a transcript to the EPIK office. Nothing has been said about apostille of anything yet, but another recruiter said the new rules go into effect next Monday. I also was requested to email my application to get it in on time which I did.
How are the new rules to effect applications currently in process?
Will they make us start over and go home to make necessary preparations to meet the supposedly new requirements and then we don't arrive on time to start teaching on March 1st?
If I were at home, then I could make arrange it on time using the new visa process, but I am not going there until February 2nd. It still appears that the medical is the biggest head ache while the having to go home to set it up thing will be a barrier for those applicants not presently in their home countries. Many are in Korea or another country currently teaching who want to change jobs and take a vacation to see the world between job contracts. That fascinating end of contract travel to many different Asian countries is a real big motivator for me to come teach as I have always had a special interest in travel, but was too poor to afford it outside of my military service years. I am not foregoing my end of contract trip in 3 weeks from now just to rush home to prepare documents. |

I was told by my recruiter that the new law goes into effect December 15th, and that you can only bypass that if your visa starts processing before that.
I sent them my diploma, etc. about a week ago, so they said I'm in the clear. |
