I called Xanadu travel to inquire about tickets for my summer vacation and whoever answered phone told me that they were very busy on Saturdays and to call them back on Monday. That's great customer service. So I called Soho travel and the guy there was great. Others have recommended Soho travel and now I see why. |

The place does get packed on Saturdays.
But I agree, they should have someone extra manning the phone/ |

I can't complain about them. For my recent China trip, they were good for the ticket as well as the visa. |

If they're that busy then they must be doing something right. But usually when a business to too busy to field a call, they at least find out what you want and offer to call you back later. I guess was just surprised at how short the guy was with me. C'est la vie! |

In my experience, their prices were almost always higher than other travel agents. Their attitude / customer service was frustrating. I no longer use them for purchases. |

they blew it for me when they put my US plane tickets on a 1 installment payment on my Samsung card when I told them to spread it out and then said they couldnt fix it. Called Samsung and they said they could, bottom line was Samsung took care of it for me. Wont use them again
So far this spring I'm impressed with Soho got me a r/t going into one US city and back from another for 1.4 in late July |

quite agree.
i got quotes from 2 travel agents for return to stockholm last year. xanadu and the korean one my company uses. exact same flight; guess who's was 50K more. for what? my guess is that it's easier for non-korean speakers to use them- therefore they charge this premium.
plus, they have a 100,000 cancellation fee policy. people, it's really only 40,000 that's imposed by the airlines. |

I went with Xanadu last year and regretted it. Their prices ended up being much higher -- lots of hidden fees -- and their service sucked. |

those of you who had bad experience with xanadu - were they flights only, or organised packages?
we're thinking of using them to see beijing at chuseok. although, they haven't replied to email as yet, so maybe i should take that as a sign? |

I dealt with Xanadu for my July vacation and they were great. There were a couple of mix-ups and the price ended up being like 30,000 more than I thought, but they covered it b/c it was their mistake and I had already sent them the money they told me.
My friend used them as well and was very satisfied. I guess it just depends on who you talk to and what day it is.

I only did flights. I never do package deals. I always buy flights and book hotels separately.

xanadu makes me nervous.
its been a week and half since I purchased my ticket. they have not given me an eticket through email, and my passport has not been mailed to me yet!
I called them to ask what is going on and I got 'working on it' and hung up! For sure tomorrow I will make a trip there to find out what exactly is going on.
The money has already been given, but my passport is what makes me the most nervous! |

I've had great service from them so far...
Walked in on a Saturday and told them what I wanted. They said OK. Pay by this date and I did. I gave them the wrong email address by mistake. Realized it after a week of not getting confirmation and I phoned them up. They answered first time and 20 minutes later I had my e-ticket sent to me.
No problems for me. The ticket price is pretty good but more expensive for this time of the year to go to Vietnam. They speak great English and were great with me.
Maybe they deal better in person. Maybe go there and it might be better than phoning up. |

Xanadu is a nightmare. There are several threads on here about what a punk Kang Wystan is. You can read my story in the Travel Agent sticky. The only way I was able to get what I needed was tocall multiple times a day until he did it. |
