|
|
Come and celebrate Christmas/Hanukkah/Kwanza/Solstice/whatever-your-bag-is in a cozy atmosphere, with the Seoul Veggie Club, at 5 pm, on Sunday, December 16th.
Bring something to share, like salad, bread, appetizers, main dish, dessert or beverages. Bear in mind that some of our members are vegan, so the more dishes without milk and eggs, the more everyone can partake.
We'll meet in the apartment of "Littlelisa." For directions, please go to http://seoulveggieclub.wordpress.com.
Let us know here, via pm, via email, via Facebook, or via blog if you are coming!
Thanks! |

I'm definitely gonna try to be there, and I'm probably gonna just bring some faux meats (made by Vegefood...)
(Some fancy doughnuts from the "Doughnut Plant" (or "Sticky Fingers") might also be nice, but I don't know how to get to either one of those places...)
I also may have trouble following directions from Jangi station to "littlelisa's" house so maybe some folks can meet at exit 2 around 4:45...
(Maybe we should also post this in the "General" forum for posters who don't often check "Off-Topic" threads...) |

Well, to drum up more views, I posted another thread in the "General" forum (usurping authority as usual ...)http://forums.eslcafe.com/korea/viewtopic.php?p=1452427#1452427
Mainly I just link back to this thread without giving many details ...
But I did post a nice photo of the club's last meeting at the Sanchon restaurant in Insadong (which "Kermo couldn't make ...) |

I'm also going to make some homemade bread and some latkes, I think. Hope to see a bunch of you here. |

Nothing beats feasting on rotting bloody carcasses. Except killing them first. |

This is why I think that an announcement thread like this of an event being organized in Korea should be posted in the "General" (living in Korea) forum.
Any replies from people who are not at all interested in attending the specific event should be screened out by mods for being off-topic.
This thread topic is not a debate on the merits of vegetarianism - it's an invitation to come to a "pot-luck" vegetarian dinner (minus the pot...)
And it really shouldn't be hijacked by a series of one-line insults which may discourage some interested people from posting.
I'll let it slide for now, but if more meat-lovers start piling on I'll start reporting posts ... |

So you are willing to partake in a little banter, then spit the dummy next post? sounds like serious iron deficiancy to me, best get a bit of lead in your pencil with a red meat injection STAT. |

Well, one advantage of the meat-head posts is that they keep bumping the thread (although even "Kermo" is avoiding posting here ...)
Actually, my thread in the General forum could use a bump:

Thank you all for your support ... |

Yes. Please ignore the meathead posts. Militant meatheads ruin it for us carnivores.
Carnivore though I am, I'll give you another bump. I like reading the vegetarian posts because they give me ideas for what to do when I'm with vegetarians. |

If you're in the Seoul area, just come to a vegetarian gathering and try it out - it won't kill you (but I might! .. )
("Beaver" knows I'm joking ...)
Seriously, non-vegetarians are welcome - even at this veggie "pot-luck" gig - I'm sure.
Not necessary to cook - or even bring - anything. There should be plenty of food so you could bring like some beverage or offer some donation to the host... |

Yeah, I promise not to make anyone take a veggie oath at the door. I'll even try to prevent Rteacher from killing you, Beaver. No guarantees of effectiveness. |
