Hey all you from the USA. Just wanted to give you a heads up on a website I found that offers a document retrieval and authentication service. That means they will get your criminal check and get it apostilled for you and mail it to you. Check it out.

Recieived my criminal backround check from Texas. It was clean.
...Not really surprising though since I've never lived in Texas. |

Holy crap, they even offer to translate the check into Korean. How much do these cost? What's the wait period?
Has anyone completed the form yet? |

I can't see costs listed anywhere, but seems like this would have been a dream for me last week. I had to take a week off work to get all the paperwork together to come to Korea. Then I see this AND am told yesterday that by the Chicago Consulate that they won't need all the appostille's and Notaries and extra checks until AT LEAST march 15th, if ever. |

Did a quick check and mine would cost almost $300 by regular mail! Cheaper than a plane ticket but expensive. The kind of check they do is with a photocopy of your driving license. Problem is that this check is only as good as the information on the DL. A fingerprint check is the best but it doesn't seem that this company does this kind of check. When I do my check it will be by fingerprint so there is no question of it being accepted. Not difficult to do if you are in the US. |
