Keep your C: drive smallish (100 gig) and your 2nd partition larger.

Use the big one for your DATA and downloads.....

IF, on the off chance you do get a virus that trashes the NTFS or the file allowcation tables on your C: drive, you only lose windowz and NOT everything.

just my 20 won worth.

				FAT? Hmmm....

I keep my C: drive at 50GB. Only programs. Move "My Docs" to another drive and partition the remaining 450GB at least once more. If you play games, move the pagefile to the same drive letter as your gaming installs. Yes, It's a good practice not to install games to the C: drive. I have partitions for different uses; one for games, one for P2P stuff, one for general storage and then C. |

With my new computer (buying it on Monday) I'll be running an XP x64 partition (40gb), Vista (40gb) and linux (20gb). I might not even run linux, it's just to have fun and see what all the fuss is about.

I then have another partition for files (pics, school, personal crap)

Next another hard drive dedicated to downloading and storing movies, tv, and software

and finally another hard drive for video editing. |

				| I'm going to set up an XP/Vista Dual OS tonight. What I want to know is will I have to install all my apps and games twice? |

				Cut down your XP installlation

Nlite is one way of doing it. XP lite is another program but have to pay for it.

Basically take a copy of XP and hack out the stuff you don't need. |

				| Sounds attractive. I might do that on my next computer for my gaming OS. I want to go linux for normal use; starting to look through distros now. Anyone got one they especially like for web browsing, music/movies/pictures? |
