If you're married to a Korean and you are permanently taking her back home to Canada with you, do you have to cash out at the time that you make the move. I'll clarify......we own our apartment here in Korea. Do we have to sell the apartment, and then transfer the money at that time, or can we hang on to the apartment here for a couple/few years and then sell it? In the second scenerio, would the Canadian Govt take a big chunk out of it as tax? Sorry if my post isn't phrased the best, but I'm short on time.

I was under the impression that a Korean was allowed a one time (tax free?) remittance of $300,000 when emigrating out of Korea.
