I'm going to take the hourly plan of 32k won with CDI, but my biggest concern right now is the lack of health/medical insurance covered.
Current CDI hourly people or anyone who isn't getting their medical insurance through their school/hagwon: how are you covering your medical? Can you still subscribe for insurance through CDI and pay a nominal monthly fee, or can you purchase health insurance through a 3rd party agency? If so, how much is it running you roughly?
I am very compelled to take the generous offer that CDI is giving me, but I need to figure out where my med coverage will be coming from before taking the next step.
Thanks! |

Look for the office nearest you on the Korean site:
http://www.nhic.or.kr/ (if the map works, that is)
http://www.nhic.or.kr/wbi/jisa/busan/main.html (at least this one shows the location of the head office in Busan ... not in Busan? click on one of the other major cities on the page ... not in a major city? contact the Seoul branch, I guess) |

Just because it's the law doesn't mean you will get national health insurance. AIG and ING offer health insurance at fairly reasonable rates compared to the U.S. offerings by the same companies. Suggest you have a Korean friend help you check it out. |
