I see a lot of ads for teaching ESL online part time. Some of the companies are Korean, some are not. The non-Korean ones seem like a good venue to make a little extra money here and there without having to ask my principal for permission/risk deportation/stir up sh**, etc.
As for the Korean companies---- If I have them deposit my pay directly into my American account and no paperwork is filed, am I working for them legally, or simply circumventing the law? To what degree are these companies constrained by Korean employment regulations if their part time contractors happen to work in Korea? Is there any place I could go for reliable info on this?
For that matter, can I get in trouble for working for a foreign ESL Online service, in the unlikely event that someone discovers I'm doing it? |
