Lee Myoung Bak has just been declared the winner of the election, clearing a staggering 53%.
To put that into perspective, No Moo Hyun and Kim Dae Jun both won with around 35%.
It'll be interesting to see what kind of president he is ... |

That may be true, but he does get results. Rudy Guiliani was no prince but look what he did to clean up NYC. |

This is as much Koreans saying, "We're sick of the Noh Mu Hyun people" as it is a vote for Lee Myung Bak. |

Polls closed at 6:00.
It's now 6:37 and I'm watching the news.
The only numbers they are showing are from various exit polls.
Where did you see this declared win?? |

How are they declaing him with the vote being finished only at 6:00??
It won't be finalized until later tonight.
They might say he is... but he is not officially declared - he is 예상
(what news network has officially declared him before the majority of the counting? I'm curious as to what channels you guys are watching?) |

His father does, went to Sing Sing for armed robbery even though he was more known as a mob enforcer with a penchant for using a baseball bat. He raised his son Rudy.
Rudy's best friend growing up is a longtime mobster.
But we must judge Rudy on his own merits, and it simply was "a simple mistake" when he recommended a later convicted felon for high job in public office, and how was he to know that the New Yorker he's associated with, arms around in smiling photos, would be convicted on federal charges.
No, Rudy doesn't have a criminal record.
But the American military kills plenty of people simply for being near a "target" as not even collateral damage but instead through an assumption of guilt by association, written off as fellow terrorists to those sought, simply for having been in the same room or vehicle as the U.S. rocket destination at the time. |

In a country where crime, lying, and cheating are part of the cultural fabric, it makes sense that the majority would choose someone like Lee Myoung Bak for President. It just goes to show how narrow minded and lacking a conscience the general population is. It is early, and less than 2% of the vote has come in, but the politically driven media is already declaring Bak to be the winner. The guy deserves to be in jail much more than to be the President of this nation. It is not going to be better times in Korea if this criminal is elected. Expect more of the anti-foreign sentiment to increase.
I am watching SBS which currently has Bak leading in the polls by 7% |

Gawd you're an idiot.
As if any other country firing a weapon at someone could control all collateral damage. I imagine a person like you finds joy in counting soldier body bags, merely for the sake of giving you ammunition for an argument. |

Woah, I'm watching SBS and they have LMB estimated at 51.3%
Why does it seem like everyone is getting some really different results.
First, how can there be any official declaration when they have only counted 5% of the votes?
Second, what channel are you guys watching that has declared him the winner? |
