Ok, this maybe a stupid question, but anyway.

I am now in need of a new DVD drive. Are dvd drives anyway dependent on what hard drive or hard drive configuration you have? I am just looking for a cheap dvd player. Would this one work with any system?

I'm sure that would work with any system. BUT, the one you linked to is an OEM (정품벌크) and won't have any cables. If you don't have a SATA connector, you should buy that one.

Over at Danawa, you can find any number of DVD-Multi drives for around 30,000 won. Look for the ones that say 정품 which means they are legit and come with the cables you'll need, plus software.

I just bought a Samsung for my old system about 2 months ago and it's great. It cost me 30,000 with everything. Took me about 15 minutes to swap out for the old one. No problems.
