So I have read that you need to get your Vietnamese Visa before you go into Vietnam and that it takes about a week. I am a US citizen and will be traveling through Southeast Asia and in Thai/Laos/Cambodia before I head into Vietnam.
What is the best way to get a visa for a traveler? The problem is that at this point I do not know exactly what days I will be entering into Vietnam.
Should I leave my passport in Thailand for a week, travel and come back and get it? |

I got a Vietnamese tourist visa at their embassy in Bangkok same day. In at 830, picked up at 230.
Wittayu (wireless)Rd. Bangkok. Right across the st. from the US Embassy. It was about 70 bucks

Not if you're planning on leaving the country. |

just get it from wherever you are... no hassles, same day service. pretty easy to get while you're in cambodia... got in about three hours from one of the travel agents in the main backpacker ghetto. |
