my E-2 visa expires on 6/6...while my ARC (and contract) finishes on 6/26. my school has told me not to worry about it and that they'll take care of it. which then made me worry.

worst case scenario,...what would happen if i didnt go to immigration to get this straightened out? a fine?

your visa became irrelevant once you entered korea. worry about your contract end date so that you meet the requirements for completion bonuses and the date on your arc is the day you must leave the country - no later than midnight on the date listed. if your contract expires after your arc, then you need to get an extension of sojourn at immi.

OculisOrbus is spot on correct.

I would add this though. If your contract end on the 26th, as does your ARC, you will probably need a couple days to get your stuff in order before you leave. You can do this for free (so long as you don't work on this extension) All you need to do is bring your ARC, passport and exiting plane ticket to immigration, and they will extend your stay up to 30 days.

You can also do it online. If you REALLY want that info, I will poke around and find it for you. I don't mind. But, if you are simply going to take care of it by going to immi, I am not going to go searching for the site.

If you apply online for a Temporary Extension of Stay, be sure to print out, and take a 'hard copy' of the comfirmation email to the airport with you.
