Im working at a hogwan for elementary kids and take one free talking lesson a day with 5th grade, about 12 years old. This is my first year and have been here 4 months. I am slowly starting to run out of ideas, I have no text books to aid me. Does anyone have any ideas? Or fun game suggestions? I have exhausted hangman and pictionary.
Thanks |

I like jeopardy type games, asking simple questions in english, usually dealing with something you taught in class, or korean current events. |

I did a few sessions of freetalking over summer. Use the media, find some photos on the net and structure some discussions off that, videos (if you have access to a video player) are also good.
With some higher level classes I would bring in something slightly provactive (a piece on catching a taxi here) and that class was very active. Music is also good, get them to learn a song and discuss (something from the 60s is always good).
Bring in some food and do blind taste tests. I played something I called 'it's in the bag' where kids get to feel objects in a bag and describe them, and hopefully identify them. The winner gets candy.
Also these threads maybe of assistance.
