-I have my release letter
-have finished my contract
-have my SS card
-have my korean bank account info

Now, as I understand it, all I need is a one way flight ticket out of the country. A refundable ticket.

Any ideas; suggestions, etc? The orbitzes and cheaptickets do not seem to identify if their tickets can be refunded.

Is it best to go to the airport and deal with a human being in person?

Thanks....I REALLY need the pension refund for my honeymoon....

Go to the ticket office of your favorite airline. They are more expensive at the airport. I know you are getting a refund but it is still cash out of pocket.

Also be aware that if you pay CASH you may have to wait 30 - 60 days for a refund. If you use your C/C you can expect the charges reversed in about 3 days.

Make sure you specifically ASK for a refundable ticket and check what the charges are. I know Korean Air charges a 30k won handling fee for returned/refunded tickets.

You will also need to add your ARC (or copy of it - both sides) and your Passport to your list of documents. They will wait until your employer makes the last payment into your account before they refund you.

Priceless. Thanks. One more question tom; I had read on here before that you have two weeks to leave the country after your visa expires. Is this true? I received a letter from immigration saying I had to leave by the 6th, which is the date my visa expires. If the F-2 takes 2 weeks, I won't have it until the 10th of January. This leaves a 6 day gap.

Do you think it'll be okay as long as my F-2 is being processed prior to the expiration of my E-2?

You are NOT OK. You have until midnight on the last date indicated on your ARC to leave the country.

Talk to the immigration office and get an extension to cover you or you will have problems. You may need to show your departing airticket.

They may (temporarily) refuse to process your F2 or give you problems if you are in an illegal overstay position.
