Take a poll. Polls are fun.
I've realized over the years that Christmas Day is a massive let-down. I much prefer the excitement of Christmas Eve. |

*beep* holidays and everything they represent.
Although I'm more than happy for a day off no matter what the reason. |

They are a bunch of grinches, aren't they?
I agree with you about the day before Christmas being special. All the excitement and anticipation is great. But Christmas morning is the very best. Waking up before dawn to open the presents while it's still dark outside just can't be beat. I like to turn the Christmas tree on for the last time. I think they look sad the day after Christmas, so I like to leave it on all Christmas Day until I go to bed.
After the presents are opened I always watch "It's a Wonderful Life". I like the message and the ending always gets me, even after seeing it a couple of dozen times. After that, working in the kitchen...the only thing that can make a home smell better than pumpkin pie baking is the turkey roasting.
Yeah, Christmas Day. |

I like the 3 or 4 days leading up to Christmas, wrapping presents and thinking of how well they'll be received, baking cookies, putting the finishing touches on decorating, that sort of thing, and I like the week between Christmas and New Years, going about visiting family and friends.
Christmas day at home is always way too hectic for my taste though. |

all those homemade holiday goodies mmmmmmmm that were being given away by people who know what you don't: how to make awesome baked goods, like distant family, neighbours, coworkers, nice old ladies, and cheap charity bake sales
those were the best!
*sigh*
