1. I sprained my ankle at work a while ago and the culprits parents paid for my immediate medical treatment.....now they nor the school are refusing to pay for the follow-up physio which I see as all part of treatment required.....Do I have a leg to stand on here :p

2. As it says in my contract I may be asked to teach teachrs at my middle school as well as students. This tuition will be happening over the winter vacation.....one of the English teachers wants to invite her daughter and even her cousins along for some free (unpaid extra) tuition as well...this seems whack to me Question

1. what happened?? were u chasing the little brat or something? Shocked as for having a leg to stand on, maybe. usually when koreans get hurt over here, they receive a one-time payment from the person to "make it go away". but, if u were hurt at work, i believe your school would have to cover it. i'm not 100% though.

2. i would try to politely tell her that her English is very good and that her daughter, cousins, etc. are definitely not at the same level as her, and u must have students of a similar level in your class. if she persists, just say no, the class is for <insert your school name here>'s teachers only. bite it in the butt now or all your teachers might bring along their families.

If you're hurt at work your employer is responsible for all your medical expenses. I'm 100% sure - it's in the Labor Standards Act.

Okay thanks.

I work at 2 schools and one of the teachers at 1 school said it's the 'Korean way' to make a one-off payment for indemnities but seeing as this was a work-related incident I don't think I should have to pay for it.
It's directly related to the incident.

If you just sprained your ankle. What follow up treatment do you need for just a sprained ankle and why did you go to the hospital for a sprained ankle.

Well it was badly sprained. I was astonished to find it wasn't broken.
At the hospital I had x-rays taken as well as the doctor's visit and cast/bandage administered, plus the medication.

The follow-up treatment is physio-a massge and reflex treatment over 2 months.
