When I get a new passport, do I have to notify immigration?

Yes you do. You have to got to immi office with your old passport, new passport and your ARC card and fill out a form. Its all done right there and takes a couple of minutes.

Remember to get a re-entry visa at the same time, that is if you are planning on going anywhere before the end of your contract. You may not need one if you are an American in the first year of a contract.

BUT - IF you are American you WILL need to transfer your MULTI-entry permission from your visa over to your new passport.
