So, maybe my memory is failing me tonight, but I've been here for almost 2 years, and can't bring to mind a bar that is well lit and only moderately noisy enough to where you can read.

Any ideas?

A hotel bar is probably the way to go for this.

You want to read in a bar? But...it's....a....BAR!

Just invest in a lounge chair, a coffee table, and a light for your living room. Stay home.

Perhaps he's wanting to appear standoffish, generate interest and pick up.

I read the Sonnets once in awhile in Sinchon-I met 2 different girls as a result-from what I hear, Evil Penguin's mom is still trolling Itaewon so I haven't seen her in Sinchon...

Gilrs prefer for you to approach them and say something interesting or make them laugh.

The reading poetry and looking effette / aloof in a bar or coffeeshop approach just screams - 'Sensitive Mummy's boy who wouldn't know what to do with me if he got me.'

Well, it hasn't been working for me anyhow... Laughing Wink

...umm...no.

I just like to be out and about while reading, not at home (in my experience doing too much stuff at home promotes insomnia)

You want a coffee shop, not a bar.

I don't do it to pick up, I do it to read-I hate reading in my apartment-a left over from my uni days-I did all my work in th elibrary, coffee shop, graduate pub or computer lab.

Being the sensitive nerd isn't my deal-even before I got left Canada I had students thinking I was in the military-of course the militar style haircut doesn't help.

Of course, taking the bus to Sinchon when I was reading minding my own business attracted one girl, but I was Captain Oblivious

No, I really am thinking of a bar. Never mind though, I found some well-lit places in Hyewha where I can drink and read.
