So I'm trying to buy tickets to one of the Rage Against the Machine shows in Japan. Does anyone know the easiest way in which this can be done? A few forums I looked at claim that it's virtually impossible to buy tickets from outside the country.

Wow, shows how far out of the loop I am. I didn't even know rage was touring as a band again. About time. Audioslave is ok, but no comparison between what we were missing with rage and soundgarden.

I have a related question about getting Red Sox tickets for the games they'll be playing in Japan in the spring. Any word on how to come by those?

Do you know anyone in Japan? If they don't already use Yahoo! Tickets or Ticket Pia (which are pretty much the same thing), get them to sign up and buy the tickets online. Yahoo! Tickets says there are still tickets available for the RATM show in Osaka for 9,000 yen.

Nowhere yet. Keep an eye on this site and you should at least find out when they go on sale.

Impossible. Your money is no good in Japan. Go back to Ohio.

I did what Lemmings suggested and bought tickets through TicketPia when I saw Les Mis in Fukuoka. Easy, as long as you can find your way around the Japanese on the website.

A few years ago I considered going to a concert in Japan when I saw someone was touring that I liked.

My advice is find a phone number and call the ticket office.

That works, too.

I wanted to see a K-1 show, called their office, and asked them to reserve me a ticket. I paid at the box office when I got to Tokyo.

I saw Judas Priest in Fukuoka in 2005. My friend runs Dope Music and he has a mate in Japan who runs the Spiritual Beast label. The SB chap had an extra ticket and we chatted through e-mail. So, I met him leaving the hotel and bought the ticket. Seeing Priest live for the first time in 19 years and then meeting KK Downing and Ian Hill. Good times!

So, make friends and who knows where it might lead.

This show is pretty close to selling out. The Saturday show in Chiba City already has, and right now there's only 2nd level tickets left for Osaka. Recommendations as to finding a friend in Japan right now are pretty useless.

Also, phoning hasn't worked. Every time I've tried it's been busy, and I don't have the time to hit redial for 2 hours a day. I've tried to find my way through the Japanese on some of the websites, but this hasn't been very fruitful.

I did, however, locate a buying service that will buy and ship the tickets out to you. And they communicate in English, so that's helpful.
