				| So Christmas is almost here and it's time to cash in the savings (a very, very large amount of 500W coins). So the question is: where do I find a 'change to bill' machine (I'm in Gunpo), plastic or paper coin rollers, or a bank kind enough to take by garbage bag full of loose change? |

				| Any decent size bank has a change machine. Just do a recon mission before you lug your coins all the way there. Usually, they are in the waiting area of hte lobby. |

I remember having almost 400,000 won in loose change, and it was a backpack full of coins (very heavy). So if you have a garbage bag full of them, that must be a very decent chunk of change you got there.

Take it to your bank. They will dump it all into a large machine that not only separates the coins, but automatically packs them into their appropriate paper rolls. It's quite amazing to watch this process actually. You do the bank a great service to keep them from having coin shortages. |

				| Saving up hundreds of thousands of won in coins is foolish. Do what I do. Keep your coins in one pocket. When you begin to tilt to that side, you know it is time to spend some coin. Splurge if you have to, but spend. |

Meh. I save all my coins in pickle jars. I use it for my rainy day/all-things-camera-related fund. I think my record is 2 1/2 pickle jars, around 650k. Helped pay for a good portion of a wide angle lens. |

				| saving them all up to cash in at once is nice...like putting your hand into the pocket of you winter coat on the first wear of the season and finding a 20 from last winter... |

				| How could anyone even save up that amount of coins? The highest denomination is only 500w. |

You'd be surprised how quickly these things can accumulate. I will admit I became somewhat obsessive about it ... any spare change that was lying around for even three seconds became mine. My missus had to keep her change under lock and key. |

I save all my change as a travel fund.

If I'm out and I can use a 500 or 100 I will.

However, when I get home I empty my pockets into my jars.

My plane ticket to Japan is paid for next week from my change jars. |

I've been in Korea since March and have been collecting my change in a sort of holiday slush fund. Now up to 13.1kg.
