The title pretty much says it all. I entered on a single-entry visa in April (about two weeks ago- the entry line says "S"). However, I just found out that I have a mandatory summer break from August 21st-31st.

Thing is, I'd really like to go to China during that time. Due to the Olympics, I'm going to have to make my plans pretty damn soon. So what do I do about the visa? How can I get additional entries? Who do I need to talk to?

Thanks in advance,
Politica

You need a multiple re-entry visa. It's about 60,000 won, I think. I can't remember exactly though.

You can get this done at immigration (go to the website and make an appointment online) or at the airport when you're leaving. I don't like doing things at the last minute, so I always get mine long before I go.

You need a re-entry permit.

To get one you MUST have your ARC.

You CAN apply for it at the same time you apply for your ARC if you don't have your ARC already.

You can get a multiple re-entry permit for 50k won. This can only be done at your local immigration office (the one that issued your ARC).

You can get a single re-entry permit at the airport or at your local immigration office. The fee is 30k won.

IF you are from the UK the fee is waived (it is free).

You're from Chicago, yeah? Me too, actually. If this is your first year in Korea and you're a US citizen, multi-entry is automatic when you get your ARC card, and the ARC itself is only 10,000 won.

I've been here over a year now and I have a single-entry visa, just because I'm too lazy to deal with immigration to get a multi. But, like ttompatz said, you can buy a single entry-exit visa at the airport when you are flying somewhere. I did it in Feb when I went to Singapore, it was easy.

yeah americans get a free re-entry visa. If your not just get it at the airport immigration before you leave, either get a multi entry (use more than once0 or a single re-entry...costs but yeah

if you dont get it they wont let you back in lol
