I may have some time next semester to begin an online MA. My undergraduate is in Graphic Design with approximately a second degree in Psychology (just need a Statistics credit). I'm comfortable with the idea of staying Asia into my 40s and maybe early 50s, if I can find employment at that age. Eventually I'd like to return to the US or some western country and be a professor of some sort at a Liberal Arts college. Hopefully this doesn't sound too pipe-dreamish.

I can't decide what would be a worthwhile online MA for me. Is an online degree even worth it considering my long long range goal is to return home to teach? Should I just bank now and then go to school?

I'd like to somehow incorporate my studies of Chinese characters with my Fine Arts degree into a Masters program of some sort. Perhaps I could leverage that into an art profressorship at the same sort of dinky (yet fantastic) university I went too.

As I plan to continue in Asia for awhile, probably as an EFLer, I was also considering an online MA in Latin. Hopefully I could study enough on my own to pass the entry test. I think studying Latin would be interesting enough and useful enough for EFL, unlike an actual EFL program which seems to be mostly jargon and competing theories about as interesting IMO as watching paint dry.

I'm just finishing up a master's through UMASS Boston. It's a great program if you want to be a language teacher. It is very professional and not expensive.
