or where they all killed and eaten?
Every country seems to have their trademark animal, Pandas in China, kangaroos in Australia, Tigers in Thailand, etc.
Korea looks like it's just been wiped out, maybe the war did it?
But i wouldn't be surprised considering how Koreans treat even a dog, that they were all killed and eaten. |

In July 2006 the Environment Department announced that they would spend USD 42.4 million to restore and protect all 54 endangered species found in South Korea. This would include 7 mammals; Sul-ak deer, moon bears, lynx, musk deers, mountain goat, fox and sea lion.
www.moonbears.org
There are only known to be 10 Moon Bears in the wild in Jirisan National Park.
These were released at this location by the Government for their protection as endangered species.
But poaching is already prevalent in this area.
In fact a recent report on SBS television showed over 100 traps being discovered in just over 90 minutes in that area.

Korean government officials eat moon bear.
This is the sad and desperate reality of the South Korean goverment's bear farming policy. |

We have some small deer in this area (Kyongbuk Province) and some wild boar. Also, small game and fowl (rabbits, pheasants). |
