I'm heading back to Korea tomorrow, and would love to stock up on delicious things I can't easily find over there.
But are there any restrictions on what I can pack in my luggage?
A friend said she had to eat up a whole box of Slim Jims before they let her on the plane for Hawaii. Would I face the same threat with any of the packaged or canned products I'd be trying to haul over to the ROK? |

I took Slim Jims and canned foods to Korea on two occassions with no problems. One of my two checked luggage is for food such as spices, canned goods, and odds n ends. There's nothing like packing a little of America to a far flung place on the other side of the globe, especially for a long haul. |

I once brought smoked meat (form an actual deli, wrapped in brown paper) over. I was surprised it worked. I did declare it as pork however. My suitcase smelled of meat for months... |

You CAN bring processed, packaged or canned foods and spices.
You CANNOT legally bring fresh meat, fruits, vegetables, plants, clippings or seeds. |
