okay, i know this is forum is mainly for korean esl teachers, but i wondered if anyone can recommend a good recruiter in japan? i'm thinking about returning to korea, but would prefer a change.
i've checked the jet website, and their application process seems to take almost a year. is this the case for most teaching jobs in japan? any advice would be greatly appreciated |

-Dave's ESL cafe has a Japan forum as well. Check it out.
-Jet is the best of the best for ESL in Japan unless you break into uni positions with Japanese contacts, experience in Japan, Japanese proficiency, luck and an MA. The Jet process is long but well worth it.
-The recruiter system is not really used in Japan. There are contracting companies like Interac but it's not really the same thing.
-Gaijinpot is a great place to look for jobs. Many, though not all, do require you to already be in Japan.
-The school year starts in April. If you're hoping to get over there soon start working on it now.
Best of luck if you make the jump. I left Japan after 5 and a half years and still wasn't ready to go. Here I've been counting the days since I got off the plane. 44 till I'm out. |
