|
|
Can anyone give me some tips on transfering money from my account into another persons account using a Nonghyup ATM.
I have done it before but had one of the assistants from the branch with me. There is an English option but if i do it with the Korean option it shows me the persons name i am transfering the money to.
So if you can give me any help or a screen by screen run through that would be great.
Hope you have a great new year. |

The recipient's name doesnt show up with the english option, really?
Well if thats true & its a concern, give yourself a tutorial with the english menus then hit cancel before you finish. The korean screens have the same prompts. |

The English option does have the person's name. It is one of the last screens though, so don't worry if you don't see it straight away.
First you have to enter the bank the person's account is with.
Then enter their account number. Next, enter the amount you want to send.
After this, you can check to make sure you have everything right, and it'll show the person's name (in Korean).
And that's it.
I'm pretty new at it all, and was worried about transferring money at the ATM. But it is super easy and hassle-free. They should have this option in western countries. |

Agree--wish my home country had this option!
OP, is there a specific reason you must use that bank? You can do an ATM transfer with any bank. I know for a fact KB, Hana, and Woori show the names. |

Interesting question. In my case , I tried to transfer TO Nonghyup from my Hana bank account and didn't see Nonghyup in English , or at least I couldn't figure out how that translated it to English. Da. If they would have just translated it to Nonghyup, like we do, it would have been obvious.
I have commented many times here and other places that certain proper names need to remain just what they are. There is NO reason to make up another name for them. Kimchi is Kimchi (well almost, it is really Gimchi) and so forth.
The reason I am commenting is that I was forced to use the Korean Language menu because of that. That was not a big problem because as another poster said, the menu flowed basically the same way and it was easy to read Nonghyup in Hangul.
Problem solved. But if you do not take the 15 minutes it takes to get started on learning Hangul , and the subsequent 6 months to have a good working knowledge of this written language , there is no reason to complain about any of your problems here.
Try learning written Chinese. Life is easy here.
Unless you are vegetarian or VEGAN.
Then by all means, go to Taiwan. |

I use Nonghyup. Every time I transfer money, I do it in English and it does, in fact, show the recipient's name. |

I think whether the name is shown or not on the English option depends on the machine...at my branch, some machines show it and some don't. |
