I've long been a fan of Nat. Geog. (despite the tv channel which is just endless repeats).

I put together a "Best" photos presentation. I use these sometimes in class for a very light, discussion oriented activity. Use the pictures as prompts. I also use these kinds of presentations as a "time clock" -- when its done, they should be finished "x" activity. Also just good for background. Enjoy.

Bibbitybop,

Happy New Year also.

As mentioned, you can look at the individual photos but I also realize that .swf does lose definition. These kinds of presentations are best viewed in ppt for individual photos. Available through EFL Classroom Resources, click Presentations. But Nat. Geog. has a super photo site and photos can be used for educational purposes. Take a look here...

But you gave me the idea of creating a directory of the .swf presentations I've made the last few years. I prob. have about 20-30 for different geographic regions + I'll make a directory of the inspirational ones I've spent a lot of time on.......I have a few cool ones of Korea that I've used in class to good effect. I do need one about Korea that is less "glittery" and more about common stuff, if anyone can offer up one!

Anyways, you'll find them in the Stories directory at EFL Classroom until I find a better home.... What I do like about .swf is the click and play and I recommend flashspring as the ONLY free converter of ppt that doesn't cause problems and only the very unobtrusive watermark you see, below.
