I'm leaving in two months at the end of Feb, but my payday is on the 10th of every month. How exactly do I get that last 2 weeks of pay? I don't trust them to send it to me after I'm out of the country so how exactly do I get it out of them before I leave?

I'm assuming you aren't in a public school?

There, you give your employer your home bank account number and they wire it to you. You pay the cost of the wiring.

Personally, I'm going to keep my Korean account open and simply withdraw it using my now-hard-to-obtain International ATM card and save myself the fees.

I had this sort of situation at my academy last year. There are a couple of reasons why the school doesnt give you your money right away. They need to get your apartment bills, electricity, phone, etc, and pay them with your money. They also need to make sure your apartment is in order and they dont need to replace anything, and this sometimes is done with your replacement, not the school.

So what I did was draw up a contract that said they would deposit my money at 12 oclock on my last day, into my korean bank account and give me enough time to withdraw it and close my account before I left korea. then i had the secretary call the phone, electricity, and gas company and get up to date bills and put them in the contract. they agreed and handed it all over to me on time.

good luck
